tips for whitening underarms

Stop sweaty hands – it’s a statement that many people make who come to see me, looking for anything that will work to end their embarrassing misery of reducing hand sweat. In this article, I will share with you 4 tips that will reduce, and possible in some cases even eliminate, your hand sweat.

Iontophoresis

This is a method that is used mainly by people who have had sweaty hands for a number of years and decided to make an investment in preventing the symptoms. Although it works very reliably, the equipment is not cheap so I would advise you to only check it out after trying all the other methods below.

The equipment consists of a shallow tray which is filled with water and the hands are then placed in it. Two electrodes are also submerged in the water and a low electric current passes.

The electric current is very low and it has the effect of blocking the sweat ducts for about a week or two, temporarily. The sensation of the electricity is said to range from a “tingling” feeling to a low amount of pain.

Medical Grade Antiperspirant

If you get an antiperspirant from the store then it will be perfumed and only recommended for use under the arms. On the other hand, if you see your doctor then he will have access to a much stronger roll-on that can be used on any part of the skin, including the hands/palms.

Some people report that it can give a burning sensation which can be alleviated by air drying the roll-on after it has been applied.

Botox

We all know how popular this is for people who want to hide their wrinkles but did you also know that it has been used for much longer in the medical profession? This is because it has temporary paralytic qualities.

It can be used on problematic sweat ducts and will stop the from excreting sweat for a long time, as much as 6 months.

However, it is not exactly cheap and ranges in the “thousands of dollars” price range.

Natural Methods

Most doctors and the medical profession advise using a whole range of treatments to stop sweaty hands but they are only treating the symptoms and not the cause of the problem. What is the cause of excessive sweating anyway?

When we face “stressful” events, the body uses a system called the sympathetic nervous system. This system will give a sustained burst of chemicals such as adrenalin and non-adrenalin and regulate many other bodily functions to give the right response. This includes a little extra sweat – needed so you can cool yourself down normally.

But in people with sweaty hands or anyone else suffering from hyperhidrosis, the system overreacts to the threat and produces far too much of it.

Natural methods seek to restore the balance. You can make very tiny changes to what you eat and your lifestyle and it can have a profound effect on your body – suddenly you can go from soaking every piece of paper that you touch to sweating as little as a normal, healthy person. The best thing is that these methods are totally permanent – no more expensive long term drugs, equipment or treatments to pay for on a regular basis.
